Candice the Writer

Candice Helfand-Rogers is an accomplished writer and editor with decades of hands-on experience crafting thought-provoking, mature and timely works for numerous, highly regarded online news organizations. She presently works at The Story Exchange, an award-winning nonprofit newsroom that elevates women’s work, voices and concerns. Prior to that, she was a journalist and manager at some of the largest news outfits in the country, including CBS Local News and The Star-Ledger. She has successfully delivered in both tense breaking-news situations and months-long reporting processes; writing individual profiles and sweeping social commentaries; crafting hard-news features and relevant op-eds. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Media Studies (with a minor in Music) at Rutgers University.
